Software / Jaz and PD650 lockout
July 06, 2009, 23:36 |
Hi, can someone help me? I have a PowerMac 7100 running Sys. 7.6.1, with a 2 gig Jaz drive and PD650 drive, both external. I used to use the drives for backup on digital audio projects, but they haven't worked properly for many years. The media always show up as locked so I can't write to them. I used to also use a G3 with Sys. 9.2 with the same external drive setup so that I could swap the files from one computer to another. The G3 has been replaced with a G4 and firewire/USB. I'm guessing that something about Sys. 9 screwed up the media for Sys. 7 so they are permanently locked. Is there a way to wipe the data on the Jaz and PD media so I can reformat them to use on the older system? There isn't anything on them I want to save. Thanks. |
