I got my PB540C connected to my MacBook Pro just fine but once I updated it to Mac OS 8.1 it started having the crashing issue as well... |

I managed to set up ethernet between my PowerBook 540C with OS 8.0 and my Macbook Pro with OS 10.5.6. I would enable file sharing on the MBP, enable AppleTalk on the PB, select AppleTalk in the Chooser, and typed in the address of my MBP (it gives it to you in System Preferences.) After I updated the PB to OS 8.1, though the Chooser would crash with a type 1 error every time I tried to connect... |
